The Activity Network, also known as the Program (or Project) Evaluation and Review Technique – PERT View, displays activities as boxes connected by the relationship lines. Activities may be added, deleted and linked in this view in the same way as in the Gantt Chart View. This article is an extract from the book 99 Tricks and Traps for Oracle Primavera P6 PPM Professional explaining how to use the the Activity Network View:

Many construction contracts specify that a delay must be calculated from the critical path of a program.

Often project programs are completed in Oracle Primavera P6 and therefore to demonstrate a delay the scheduler needs to add delays to the program to demonstrate and calculate the delay.

Oracle Primavera P6 “Project Must Finish by Date”

An absolute finish date may be imposed on the project using the Project Window, Dates tab. Imposing a Must Finish By date makes Primavera calculate the late dates from the Must Finish By date rather than the calculated early finish date. Click on this link to see an article on how this P6 operates
