I was recently contacted by a client who was finding imported projects were not calculating the project costs correctly and had different values to the original project in the database that it was exported from. This article explains why imported projects may have different costs to the original project click on this link>>>.
The Activity Network, also known as the Program (or Project) Evaluation and Review Technique – PERT View, displays activities as boxes connected by the relationship lines. Activities may be added, deleted and linked in this view in the same way as in the Gantt Chart View. This article is an extract from the book 99 Tricks and Traps for Oracle Primavera P6 PPM Professional explaining how to use the the Activity Network View: http://eastwoodharris.com/DL/TP/210730_P6_Activity_Network_View.pdf
Some scheduling products like Powerproject allow Multiple Code Values to be assigned to an activity. This is useful for example when you have two people responsible for an activity but in P6 you may only assign one person who would be represented as a single code value. It was brought to my attention recently that when LOE and WBS Summary tasks have progress that the resource units are updated but the costs are not.
If you wish to understand why this happens and how to resolve this issue please read this article I have written by clicking on this link>>>.
Many construction contracts specify that a delay must be calculated from the critical path of a program.
Often project programs are completed in Oracle Primavera P6 and therefore to demonstrate a delay the scheduler needs to add delays to the program to demonstrate and calculate the delay.

An absolute finish date may be imposed on the project using the Project Window, Dates tab. Imposing a Must Finish By date makes Primavera calculate the late dates from the Must Finish By date rather than the calculated early finish date. Click on this link to see an article on how this P6 operates
